Junior Bal misses qualifying EMX125 Maggiora by 0.7 seconds
RGS MX Junior Racing Team´s Junior Bal tried his best on board his TC125 Husqvarna to qualify for the second round of the FIM European Motocross Championship EMX 125 in Maggiora, Italy. The talented Belgium rider finished 23rd in timepractice. The ‘17’ missed qualifying in top 20 for the EMX125 race by only 0.7 seconds. He raced eleven laps on the historic Maggiora circuit, and was very close to qualifying. Teammates Dave Abbing and Uwe de Waele were both not racing the Italian round. Read the Dutch version below.
For Junior Bal it was the first time out racing again after a shoulder injury which kept him sidelined. Three months ago he crashed during training session at Ottobiano, Italy, where he broke his collarbone. He’s only been back on the bike without shoulder problems since two weeks.

Junior Bal (#17):
“My preparation for Maggiora was very minimal because my shoulder caused problems, and that’s why I was only able to train three times on the bike before Maggiora. Because of the short preparation I had no expectations for his weekend and no stress, but feel sorry to miss qualifying by only 0.7 seconds. I was not in topshape and not completely my self yet. This weekend I will be racing the Dutch Championship 125 in Halle and I will race the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 and selected EMX 125 races. I would like to thank RGS MX Junior Team and all the sponsors for this opportunity.”
“I am happy to have Junior Bal back joining the team healthy. Riding on the bike more and more will bring him back to the potential speed he has. With so many young riders trying to qualify in Maggiora it’s a sorry to miss qualifying by 0.7 seconds. We all hope Dave Abbing will join the team soon again while he is currentyly still recovering from his broken hand. Our youngest teammember Uwe de Waele is currently busy to gain more and more race speed during his training program. Many thanks to all the partners and sponsors for the effort!”
The next race for Junior Bal is the Dutch Championship 125 in Halle on the 11th of july folowed by the German ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 in the weekend of 17th – 18th july in Tensfeld.
Uwe de Waele (#512) will race this weekend the French MX Master Kids, a big international race weekend in the northern of French.
Dave Abbing (#200) is working on his recovery of his broken hand, and is currently on a cardio training program to keep building on his condition without being able to ride his bike yet.
